Berlin City Tour!

The free city walking tour in Berlin was fascinating to learn about the history of the second world war. On the tour I visited a number of memorials and famous sights, which are displayed below. This experience has definitely had a impact on me as a person, it has also inspired my ideas for my art project, influencing me to create political art.

The Brandenburg Gate!

Memorials!

This was one of Hitlers buildings and today it has been turned into the tax office!
A building Germans still hate!

Cat Mazza, Ruth Cross and Liz Collins inspiring my Knitting!

Cat Mazza is a textile artist which has inspired a number of my knitted samples. It has been interesting to look at the text she uses on a number garments and accessories. This artist portrays strong political messages against sweat shop labour used in major clothing manufactures.

Cat Mazza’s Micro Revolt series of logo knits gives a great example of her text based work, where she creates garments stating the name of each sweat shop offender.

  Nike petition blanket.

A knitting company called Ruth Cross has influenced a number of my cable samples. The company’s cable throws and hot water bottle covers have influenced a series of my hand knitted pieces.

Documenting my work through photography.

A friend of mine offered to model for me!
Most recently in my art project I have been drawing sections of the human body.........

The aim of my art work is to portray the concept of hidden identities through a number of large scale drawings.
