Textiles - Hand Dying Wools.

I have recently been experimenting with dying my own wools with herbal tea bags and coloured food dyes. This has been a very exciting process, I have loved creating my own natural colours with items from the kitchen.

Creating different coloured wools with tea bags!

Most recently I have been using a range of herbal tea bags to dye my wools for knitting. This is a exciting process and I have enjoyed making my own unique selection of colours.

The exhibitions I will be taking part in this year!

Exhibition at the Walcot Chapel Gallery in Bath - 5th April to the 9th April 2011.
This is a group exhibition which I will be working towards this year. I will be involved in creating a series of poster designs for the event, asking local businesses for sponsorship, fundraising and arranging food and drink for the opening night.

Towards the exhibition I will be creating art and textile work to feature in the show!
The private view will be held on the 5th April 2011 from 6pm.

Exhibition at the American Museum in Bath - 27th of May to the 6th of June 2011.
This is a exhibition which I will be working towards this year within textiles. I visited the American Museum on my own in the summer and gather lots of inspiration for this project.

After visiting the Museum I discovered the collection of maps they had on display.

I felt very inspired by the patterns and shapes on all the maps!

I decided to focus on drawing the map of America..............

Molly's Creative Work.

I am a creative person who enjoys both Art and Textiles!
My aim will be to use the blog to show all my recent work and ideas through a series of photographs!

These are my first drawings this year..................

I enjoy drawing sections of the body...........

When drawing I prefer to use ink as I feel this allows me to express myself.

Knitting is a area of textiles which I feel most  passion about...................

Hand knitted bobbles in 5 different coloured wools.

Lace patterns.

A series of cable patterns.

One of the hardest patterns I have followed.......

Hand knitted sections with machine embroidery on top to form a textured map in the shape of America!
